Cineroost Boards Prateek Vats' 'Chronicles of a Confession' Before a November Shoot

Kavita Gupta's US-based company Cineroost has boarded Prateek Vats' second feature, "Chronicles of a Confession," as producer, joining Payal Kapadia and Anurag Kashyap on the project. Shooting is set to begin in early November.

Cineroost's brief is twofold: global representation and the US market, plus the more fundamental job of helping get the film into production.

That second part is the more telling one. A company brought on specifically to move a feature from intended to shooting — while also holding its international sales — is a reminder that getting a film made and getting it seen are two different jobs, increasingly handled by the same hands.
