'The Julia Set' Lands at Sony Pictures Classics After a TIFF Breakout
Sony Pictures Classics has acquired rights to Niki Byrne's 'The Julia Set,' starring Chase Infiniti, following the film's world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Byrne wrote and directed it. Variety describes it as one of the festival's breakouts, attributing much of that to what it calls Infiniti's commanding performance — a review-drawing turn from a star whose other credits include 'The Testaments' and 'One Battle After Another.' A festival premiere that generates that kind of talk is the shortest path to a distribution deal, and this one moved quickly.
