Terry Fox, Beyond the Icon: 96 Reels of Unseen Marathon Footage

Run Terry Run, a new documentary directed by Sean Menard, sets out to look at Terry Fox beyond his status as one of Canada's most celebrated heroes. It draws on 96 reels of previously unseen footage from Fox's 1980 Marathon of Hope.

The archive is the reason to care. The Marathon of Hope was a long, grinding, day-after-day event, and a documentary built from the raw footage has a chance to show Fox as a person mid-run rather than as a national symbol.
