Two Engineers, a Few Weeks, and a Stack Overflow for Agents

OpenAI's own telling: two engineers shipped a project called Stack Overflow for Agents in a few weeks using Codex, and a ChatGPT plugin helped drive up to 10× growth in agent creation. The name points at the users — agents rather than people — and the plugin appears to have done the distribution work as much as the build did. Keep a sceptical eye on the figure. “Up to 10×” is a ceiling on a company-reported number with nothing to divide it by, and growth in agents created is not the same as agents doing useful work. The build time is the bragging right; whether agents want a question-and-answer site of their own is the more interesting question.
