Three efforts to change how Africa is seen
DW reports that a UN resolution would redraw the global map so the African continent is projected more accurately, part of a wider set of efforts it describes as changing how Africa is seen: national initiatives to decolonize school curricula, and a campaign to present positive developments. The three strands are telling in different ways. A map is a design decision with political weight; a syllabus shapes what children absorb; a campaign decides which stories travel. If the aim is perception, all three are working on it by different means.
