Paramount and Warner Bros. Are Set to Combine Under the Skydance Name

Variety reports that Paramount and Warner Bros. will combine into one mega-studio carrying a familiar name: Skydance, with the deal expected to close on Tuesday.

The CEO quoted in the report frames the combination as continuity rather than reinvention — not rewriting history, in that telling, but equipping two iconic studios with a more powerful engine, and building what he describes as a creative-first home for bold, quality storytelling.

The load-bearing phrase there is "creative-first". Two legacy studio brands, one owner, and a promise about what gets greenlit — the sort of claim that only a few years of slates can actually test.
