A Documentary About High-School Oratory Finds a Streaming Home

Documentary+ will become the streaming home of Speak., Deadline reports, a documentary executive produced by Josh Gad that centers on gifted high schoolers competing in the Original Oratory category at the National Speech & Debate Association's National Tournament. Jennifer Tiexiera directed, with Guy Mossman co-directing; Deadline describes the film as award-winning and says it will begin streaming on Doc+.

A category built on original oratory is an unusual thing to hang a film on — persuasion treated as a scored event, with teenagers as the competitors. Whatever the film makes of it, the premise is a few degrees off the usual extracurricular documentary.
