One Executive for Two Studios' Film Marketing
Two organizational details from a very large merger. Deadline reports that Josh Goldstine, until now overseeing marketing at Paramount Pictures, is being tapped to head marketing and distribution for all of Skydance's film labels, Paramount and Warner Bros. included, after the merger closed Tuesday. Separately, Variety reports that Skydance says Paramount's and Warner Bros. Discovery's games and experiences divisions will be merged into one team that will oversee the combined projects.
The games line is the concrete one: two companies' worth of interactive projects now sit under a single group. The film line is about machinery rather than branding — one executive answering for how both labels' movies are sold and distributed. That is where a merger like this can start to be felt, not in a logo but in which films reach screens, and when.
