In a Canadian Democracy Survey, the Prairies Lead on Hopelessness and B.C. on Hope
Global News Canada reports on a Statistics Canada survey that finds a sharp regional split in how people feel about democracy. The Prairie provinces, Alberta among them, had the highest percentage of respondents who felt no hope at all about democracy, while British Columbia led on those who felt very hopeful. Both findings come from the same scale, just opposite ends of it — which of the two leads the story is an editorial choice as much as a measurement.
