Zurich's Top Prize Goes to a Love Story That Premiered at Cannes
French director Pierre Le Gall's passionate love story, 'Flesh and Fuel,' took the Golden Eye, the top prize at the 22nd Zurich Film Festival, on Saturday. The film had its world premiere in Cannes' Critics' Week before arriving in Switzerland. The festival's documentary prize went to Pete Muller's 'Bucks Harbor,' which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival's Panorama section. Two films that started at other festivals, then, ended up sharing Zurich's top honours — a reminder that the autumn festival circuit is often where earlier premieres get a second look from juries rather than audiences.
