The Ninth 'Evil Dead' Film Lands on HBO Max This Month

October is Halloween season, and Variety's streaming roundup puts two of the year's high-profile horror releases on platforms this month. Variety expects it to be a big home-viewing hit — a reasonable bet for a series whose selling point has always been going further than the audience expects.
