The Mathematician Who Also Presided Over the Jugglers
The late Ronald Graham was a renowned mathematician who at one point served as president of the American Mathematical Society. He was also a serious juggler, and president of the International Jugglers' Association — a pairing of offices that Quanta Magazine notes without pretending it was planned. Fan Chung, a mathematician at the University of California, San Diego, who was married to Graham, put the appeal plainly: he loved tricks. She mentioned spinning a ball, spinning a coat hanger. Two presidencies, one résumé.
