José María Cabral's first dark comedy heads to Tallinn

José María Cabral, whom Variety describes as a three-time Oscar hopeful for the Dominican Republic and the first Dominican filmmaker selected for Sundance, with 2017's "Woodpeckers," is bringing "Sh*t Happens" to the Tallinn competition — his first dark comedy.

Variety calls it an Almodovaresque tale of social divide and powerplay in a Dominican household where, literally, shit happens. A title that doubles as plot summary and genre signal is a promising thing to put in front of a festival jury.
