Diesel Above £2 a Litre, and a Duty Freeze That May Not Be Enough

BBC Business reports that diesel recently topped £2 per litre, and that there is concern a duty freeze will not go far enough. The pressure lands on businesses that buy fuel as an input: fuel costs are squeezing margins for some of them, which means the increase is being absorbed rather than passed along in full. A frozen duty holds one component of the pump price still; it does nothing about the rest of the rise.
