A NASA Center Picks a Director Who Started There Four Decades Ago

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman has named Stephen Cash director of the agency's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, effective Monday, Oct. 19. The agency describes Cash as a veteran NASA engineer and aerospace executive who returns to run the center where he began his career more than four decades ago. Institutions rarely get to hire their own history back, and a four-decade loop through the same campus says something about how much of spaceflight is carried by people who stay in the hardware for a career rather than an adventure.
