A Mental Health Initiative Aimed at Young Performers — and Young Creators

Next Generation Collective has teamed with The Kids Mental Health Foundation on an initiative to help young people in entertainment, music and the creator economy navigate growing up in the public eye. It was launched at Hollywood & Mind's inaugural summit at iHeartMedia in New York City.

The inclusion of the creator economy is the part worth noticing. A teenager with a large following is performing for strangers, reading comments and being recognized in public — the same conditions the initiative is aimed at — but may never have had a studio, a contract or a child-performer framework anywhere in the picture. Whether support organized around entertainment and music can travel that far is the open question.
