The Two Routes Predators Used to Reach Children in Government Care
Young people in government care can be prime targets for sexual exploitation, as recent cases in Nova Scotia courts demonstrate, CBC reports. A senior Crown prosecutor said sexual predators located the children by lurking near group homes or scoping them out on social media. The two access routes are different in kind: one is physical proximity to a known address where children live, the other is the ordinary visibility of a teenager online. Both descriptions come from the prosecution's account of how cases reached court.
