The Numbers in an AI-Built App Were Frozen at Publish Time

Amazon says its Quick Apps feature lets you describe an application in plain language and have an AI agent write and deploy a working web application, with no hands-on coding or DevOps steps. The catch, on the company's own account: numbers drawn from governed business datasets could not be queried live from an app. Whatever dataset figures an app displayed were baked in when the agent built it — in effect a snapshot frozen at the moment of publication. That was fine for a static report, Amazon says, but it broke down as soon as you wanted metrics that reflected what the data says now. The new piece is live structured data pulled from data lakes, databases and other analytics stores, which is the difference between an app that reports and an app that keeps up.
