Secondary Sanctions Are Squeezing Who Will Service Iranian Airlines
Deutsche Welle reports that the threat of secondary US sanctions is putting pressure on airports, fuel suppliers and aviation companies that service Iranian airlines — and that some countries have already canceled flights.
The mechanism is worth noticing. The pressure lands less on Iran's carriers directly than on the third parties that keep them flying: fuel, ground handling, airport access. When those suppliers decide the exposure isn't worth it, the disruption shows up as cancellations decided far from Tehran.
