RioFilme Lines Up R$100 Million for Film and TV
RioFilme, the film and TV company of Rio de Janeiro City, will launch a call for proposals amounting to R$100 million, about $20 million, its president Leonardo Edde told Variety. The money covers film and TV production, development, distribution and international co-productions, with the incentive package to be unveiled Oct. 1. The co-production line is the one that could change who gets to make what, by giving foreign partners a reason to route projects through the city rather than shoot elsewhere.
