Northwestern Ontario's Clock Rule Now Runs Along the 90th Meridian
The provincial government announced Tuesday that northwestern Ontario communities west of the 90th meridian will stop the twice-annual clock change. The cutoff is a line of longitude rather than a list of towns, which makes the rule easy to state and strange to live beside: in this corner of the province, whether your clocks get moved twice a year is settled by how far west you are, not by which municipality you belong to. Communities on the western side of that line are to hold one time setting year-round instead of shifting twice a year.
