NASA Is Hiring Flight Directors for the Space Station, Artemis and, Later, Mars
NASA is taking applications for flight directors until Monday, Oct. 12, with U.S. citizens applying through the federal jobs site. The scope of the notice is the interesting part: NASA says the people it selects will direct crewed missions to the International Space Station, Artemis missions to the Moon and, later, the first crewed missions to Mars.
One hiring notice, three destinations in a row — a station in low orbit, a return to the lunar surface, and crewed Mars missions the agency places further out still. "Flight director" is a title easy to skim past; the itinerary attached to it is not.
