ICE Bans High-Speed Chases and Tightens Its Traffic-Stop Rules

PBS NewsHour reports that ICE has issued new guidance, laid out in a memo, banning high-speed car chases and setting tighter rules for traffic stops.

The change follows ICE-initiated vehicle stops that repeatedly escalated when drivers refused to cooperate or tried to flee. According to the reporting, agents have fired their guns during more than a dozen such encounters since last year, killing at least four people and wounding several others.
