Côte d'Ivoire Becomes the 75th Artemis Accords Signatory

Côte d'Ivoire signed the Artemis Accords, becoming the 75th signatory to the agreements on peaceful, cooperative space exploration. The country's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Adama Diawara, signed on behalf of the nation at a ceremony held during Africa Space Expo ASPEX 2026. NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson framed the signing as an extension of an existing relationship: “The United States and Côte d'Ivoire already cooperate on Earth. Today, we expand that partnership beyond it.” The value of a 75th signature is less about any single launch and more about the widening set of countries that have agreed to a common set of rules before lunar and Martian activity scales up.
