Claude Models Get an India Endpoint That Keeps Processing In-Country
AWS says Anthropic's Claude Opus 5, Sonnet 5, and Haiku 4.5 are now available in India on Amazon Bedrock, with requests served through what it calls India geographic cross-Region inference from the Mumbai and Hyderabad Regions. The stated use case is a familiar compliance one: workloads where a customer needs data processed locally in a chosen geography, rather than routed abroad. That framing matters because it is the vendor's own description of the offering, not an independently measured claim about speed or quality — the selling point here is where the processing happens, not how the models perform.
