Cineverse Buys 'Ralph's Perfekt Christmas', the First Feature From a New Banner

Cineverse has acquired VOD and streaming rights to Ralph's Perfekt Christmas, which Deadline calls a genre-bending holiday feature. It stars Tom McLaren, and Mary McLaren — a former Twentieth Century Fox executive — is among its producers. It is also the debut feature from the pair's Next Chapter Entertainment banner (S7E1, S7E2, S7E3).

The last detail is the one that travels. Buying the rights to a first feature means buying the opening output of a new outfit run by someone who has spent a career on the studio side of the business — a producer's second act, in effect. The sales story here is not just a holiday film finding a home; it is the first data point on what a veteran of the studio system does when the studio is no longer the employer.
