A Hur Jin-ho Thriller Led Korea's Chuseok Box Office Surge

Director Hur Jin-ho's political crime thriller "The Assassin(s)" topped the South Korean box office over the weekend of Sept. 25–27, according to KOBIS, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council.

It opened into a major surge across the peak Chuseok festival frame — a holiday window that compresses moviegoing into a few days, giving a newly opened local film a kind of attention an ordinary weekend can't match.
