A Drug Trial Aimed at a Virus With No Approved Vaccine or Treatment

A drug trial is aimed at Bundibugyo virus, which is responsible for the fast-moving outbreak and has no approved vaccine or treatment. The study began in July and is one of several launched to find some protection — or at least a way to slow the outbreak. That is what outbreak response looks like when the standard tools are missing: the trial itself becomes the intervention.
