A degree that does not always travel with a Ukrainian refugee

Canada has extended temporary measures for displaced Ukrainians, allowing work permits to be renewed for up to three years. The harder question is what happens to a working life once the crisis of arrival has passed, and research published in the International Journal of Manpower offers no single answer. The authors analyzed UNHCR data on 1,429 Ukrainian refugees who were living and working outside Ukraine; some rebuilt their careers, while others suffered significant employment setbacks.
