10,000 Litres of Diesel, Pulled From the Tanks Themselves

BG Fuels says 10,000 litres of diesel were stolen from three Mobil gas stations in Calgary, and surveillance footage suggests the fuel was drawn directly out of the underground tanks.

The last detail is the strange one. Buying diesel normally means pulling up to a pump and paying for it; taking it out of the tank itself is a different order of access. Whatever the motive, 10,000 litres across three sites reads more like equipment and planning than an opportunist with a jerrycan.
